For Clinicians!

Always wanted to learn how to incorporate improvisation into your work? Learn how! Come join us on the San Jose State Campus from 10-11:30 AM (exact room is TBA) to learn from the pros! This workshop is perfect for SLP-CCCs, OTs, therapists, and educators who run groups, or other providers who want to incorporate improv into their skill set.

After the workshop, we will travel over to EvoLibri in Santa Clara for lunch, and then try out our skills with a group of clients participating in a summer camp for neurodiverse teens.

What It Is!

Improv isn’t just out fun and laughter – as important as those are! It also represents a transformational technology that supports neurodiverse individuals – including those with autism, social anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities – to strengthen communication and social skills. Based on the Camp Yes And model (yesand.indiana.edu), this hands-on workshop will be facilitated in two parts.

During the morning session, a group of CSz improvisers will work with educators to learn foundational improv techniques. During the afternoon session, the entire group will co-facilitate an improv workshop for a group of neurodiverse individuals (ages 16-22) at EvoLibri Consulting’s LifeLaunch Summer Program – a two-week crash course in independent living skills. Experience the power and joy of improv for neurodiverse youth and educators!

We hope to find a way to get you CEUs and keep the cost down on this, and we haven’t solidified the location yet — please RSVP if you are INTERESTED, and we’ll go from there!
