EvoLibri Consulting is a socially responsible, fee-for-service agency serving teens and adults with specific challenges that without targeted services keep them from reaching their full potential. Founded by Jan Johnston-Tyler in 2007, we have served over 1,000 clients and their families, helping them Make Life Work.
We are unusual in several ways:
- We view each client holistically, knowing that complex challenges often require a multidisciplinary, multi-faceted approach.
- We look longitudinally at each client, aiming to understand not only what will work now but also what the client may need in the future, and we prepare for that.
- We think “out of the box,” designing creative approaches to solve hard-to-tackle challenges.
- We act pragmatically – we reach far and wide to find the specific service or provider that will best help each client, even if it means referring them to another professional or agency.
- Finally, each of us is passionate about the work we do and has consciously chosen to make this our life’s work and to have FUN doing it! We truly enjoy serving our clients and it shows!
- Once you visit our office and meet our staff, you’ll understand why so many parents say, “I’m so glad we found you!” and why so many teenagers and young adults tell us, “Wow, you really get me.”
We do. And we’re here to help!

MA (She/Her)
Founder and C.E.O., Business and Program Development; Career, Transitional, Executive Functioning Assessment & Counseling
Retreating from tech, Jan Johnston-Tyler earned her M.A. in Counseling from Santa Clara University in 2007 and founded EvoLibri Consulting, intending to bring services to those who typically don’t qualify for regional centers, but who still have barriers that stand in the way of success.
Drawing on her previous experience in Silicon Valley tech
(project management, technical communication and training, customer support), she has authored four books and her work appears in peer-reviewed journals. Jan also has written the vast majority of EvoLibri’s proprietary curricula and assessment tools. With her extensive corporate experience, Jan brings energy, creativity, and vision to her work. As a counselor and coach, she brings practical and empathetic solutions to all her clients.
Finally, as the mother of two young adults with a variety of diagnoses, she knows firsthand what support can do for neurodivergent populations and how exceptional these people are. In her free time, Jan loves to cook, write, garden and spend time with her menagerie of cats, bunnies, chickens, and bees.
